Vašar

This is a song by the late, great Predrag Živković – Tozovac.

The song describes the sights and sounds of an annual fair.

The lyrics are:

People from all around have gathered for the fair. The girl’s faces are all glowing, and the guys are admiring them from the sidelines. During the day, the vendors are selling and trading their goods with some just watching, others buying. As the moon comes out, so does the wine and roasted pig and lamb. While the drummer drums under the tent, the cold beverages come out and the singer sings without pause until the wee hours of the morning.

The chorus repeats: At the fair, joy is everywhere. All the girls want to marry and will select their mate to diminish the long nights.
